Last week at this time I was at my parents house. I was probably doing about the same thing. Relaxing. Hubs and I went to both of our parents places for Thanksgiving. What a treat to see so many people we love. Hubs skipped class on Wednesday so we could leave Tuesday night. We even surprised my mom. Hubs helped my older brother put in a new kitchen faucet for my mom on Wednesday. I did a whole lot a laundry. We usually try to wash at our parents homes. It has been way too long since we have been there (at least long enough to do some laundry) so, we had much to do.
My mom's sister, parents, and my cousin came for Thursday. It was so nice. I tried to do the dressing so it wasn't too moist. Well, oops. My aunt brought an amazing almond cheesecake. So delicious. My grandma brought pumpkin and pecan pie, caramel, and divinity. So yummy. Well, not the pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie used to be my favorite and the only pie I would eat (I would only eat the filling). Now it is not a pie that I appreciate. I don't know what it is, but I guess I will stick with pecan.
So at my parent's place we gave thanks for: FAMILY. Relaxation. Washing machines. yummy food. and Quality time spent.
Then we traveled across the great state and got to the Amiots of the North. All of Hubs immediate family was there already. We immediately sat down to another Thanksgiving meal. Yummy. Some big highlights from time there were: getting to see our neiceS and nephew. We also got to see our brother's-in-law mother. She came all the way from India. We get to see her at Christmas too. :) We made lefse. We sat around the table we helped Mom and Dad Amiot get. Hubs and I also spent some time researching computers. We were hoping to get a Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal. We did some fairly thorough research and got one on Encore Tuesday.
So at the northern household we gave thanks for: FAMILY. Lefse, (delicious food). Babies. and Quality Time too.
Today I am still giving thanks. I am thankful for our Savior Jesus Christ, Hubs, reclining couches, and days off of work.
