The last couple weekends were filled with shopping. We got Hubs a new professional looking coat. This is a fun story. It almost pains me to think about the time we spent on it, but that is fine. We have a coat now... Hubs wanted a more professional looking coat that he could wear to work for his birthday instead of his ski jacket. So I spent a Saturday and Sunday looking for what I thought he would like. I got a pretty good deal on something and put it in his bag. I did get another one just so there could be a choice though. Then the day came and turns out the other jacket I got was a woman's jacket! Yikes. We returned that and decided he actually wanted a different type of Jacket. (I brought this on myself, because I suggested it.) So He had a lighter soft shell jacket that I got originally, and then we decided to get a wool jacket. The first one he tried on was a nice jacket it just looked more like a younger person jacket. Which is fine because we are 'younger' but I thought we should get one that would grow with us. He still really liked that one. So we went around to lots of stores and found similar styles of jackets we liked. There was one at JC Penny that we also liked but was more expensive, less options, but my favorite. So we didn't get one.
Then a couple weeks ago we went again. This time in dress clothes (just after church). This time to more stores, but with a more specific mission. So those trips were pretty quick. Then we got to JC Penny, And with the dress clothes on he liked the style of jacket that I liked better. :) So we left the jacket, went to go eat,and checked out the previously favorite jacket just in case. We came back to JC Penny and it was gone! Someone bought it in that hour. Gee Wiz! So we ended up ordering it online. Turns out it was $30 cheaper online! We didn't have to pay shipping because it was to the store, and we got $20 off thanks to my mom and sister-in-law. So turns out it was a blessing that it took us that long. :-)
Last weekend we got some couches! If you have been to our apartment you know that we have hand-me-down furniture. Nothing wrong with that, but our futon has seen better days or years you could say.
We have Hubs' parents' pick up because my car pooped out on us the weekend after my new niecer was born. I was going to see her and Hubs was going to have a guys weekend. The engine seized 20 miles out of town, so we have been on the hunt.
Motivated by having the pick up and looking for cars we started looking at couches more seriously. We found some! They are not my favorite color, but not my least favorite either. We got a couch and love seat set. They are used from Craigslist. But they are in really good shape, and we think they still have a few more years left on them. They recline. So exciting. So we are getting rid of the futon, and who knows what else to fit these things in our living room. But come on over now and don't be afraid to sit down! :)
