We had a wonderful Independence Day weekend. We spent time at our friend's cabin until Sunday. We went swimming, boating, tubing, watermelon-ing on the pontoon, movie-ing, and mucho eating. I had my first smore of the summer there and it was so perfect. I had a second one right away. Then I wanted a third. I held off with some more than delicious graham crackers. Yay for self-control. Hubs and I put on sunblock, but we both still burned. I guess we needed to reapply more often. So now my skin is starting to itch! Yikes.
Here is the whole crew.
After spending time at the cabin folks needed to return to their homelands and we went to visit neicer and her parents because they live not to far from where we were. We got to see more fireworks with them and it was fun. Neicer was freaking out right away because she was super excited. She was also wanting a little boy there to sit with her in her little camping chair. It was pretty cute. Hubs got a great picture of it. So then on the 4th we went to a parade and hand much fun there. I was trying to cover up my shoulders because that was where I had burned mostly. I worked out ok but the weather was just so beautiful and warm that it was hard. Neicer got lots of candy because she is so cute. Then we went to their house, she swam in her pool, and went for a ride on the zoom.
We then went home to much work. Sort of. We got all of our stuff hauled in and were pretty exhausted so we left it for the next time we had a chance to put stuff away. In the morning I looked in the kitchen sink and we had little black ants again! I was pretty frustrated and felt defeated. I told Hubs because I had to go to work right away. At lunch I had a text that he had taken care of it! Hooray! The caulking that we did earlier wasn't complete in a corner and they were getting through over there. So Hubs saved the day by finishing the caulking. Yay! No more ants. I almost got in 40 hours in 4 days, and Hubs is working the weekend. So that meant he was able to go help his mom and dad with some siding up north. Luckily, Hubs left his wallet up there so they offered to bring it down yesterday and take us out to lunch. We had some pretty delicious food and a great visit with them.
Today I am working on wifely duties. Hopefully Key Lime Pie will be on the way. I am looking for recipes. I also need to do some serious grocery shopping. The cow has run dry and the bread is almost gone. I need to deposit a paycheck, and keep up on the dishes. I also want to work on a Shutterfly book.
Hubs and I, well mostly I like to 'scrap book' with these books. I like that I can document what we have been up to with pictures and still print pictures without finding lots of photo albums to store them in. So hopefully I can finish out 2010 book! Yikes. I may even want to make a book of this last weekend. We got lots of fun pictures with our camera. Hubs was super excited to try the fireworks mode. To complete this post here are a couple of long shutter pictures that are fun.

It was so fun to have you guys! Fun to hear about your month so far! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
